This was a decent suspense novel about a writer who suffers tragic circumstances due to hateful racists, bent on killing him. It really kept me guessing as to who was responsible and how everything would turn out. I would have given it a higher rating, but for the fact there were a few times the action or crime was confusing to me, and I had to flip back earlier in the book to reread something to help figure something out, but other than that, it was a good story, with a good plot. I liked the author's use of imagery, and choice of words. There was also a romance as a secondary plot.
